I first met Kurt when I worked at state probation in Jeffco in 1984. We stayed in touch and he was instrumental in helping me transfer from Federal Probation in the District of New Mexico back home to the District of Colorado. I always thought he kept the most detailed and organized field book and he was a true mentor in how to conduct field work. I learned a lot from him and even traveled from the Colorado Springs office just to do field work with him in Denver. Thank you Kurt! You will be missed by all of us.

Whenever I think of Kurt a smile crosses my lips. He seemed to always be in a joyful mood and happy to share that joy. The world is a bit emptier now. I will always be grateful for the time we did share together and all that he taught me. Rest In Peace dear friend.

Will miss Kurt's voice, smile, and dry humor.

I knew Kurt from the South Suburban seniors group and his working around the golf course. He was always a joy to be around

Kurt was/IS my mentor, friend, colleague, etc. He taught me to shoot and "gave" me my first firearm as a federal officer. But he taught me to carry it carefully and respectfully while standing in line at the DMV helping the baddest guys on the street get ID and social security; taught me to remember every family member's name, even when they made fun of his bad hair and "ladies' glasses;" they all either loved him or paid due deference to his kind heart and spirit. He shaped my career and more importantly my heart. I have a CD of our field ride tunes he gave me when I left Colorado and it is on my office shelf to this day. It's entitled "Kid, Teach "Em How to Drum in the Lone Star State." That is Kurt. Much love to his family!

I worked with Kurt up until he retired. We started out in the federal building, later relocating next door into the renovated courthouse. Kurt liked to work "cop hours" and I remember one field day he wanted us to start before 5am. I was like "Ouch." He also liked to take lunch breaks at some crazy places. One time he said "Hey, I know a really good German place." Again, I was like "Ouch." LOL. His office looked like the Botanic Gardens. I saw Kurt play in a band in Parker a few summers ago. He did love him some drums. A "cool cat" all around...
